Moose Lake, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A client of the Minnesota Sex Offender Program in Moose Lake is dead after an apparent suicide.
The Minnesota Department of Human Services says Friday's incident involving a 45-year-old man is the first of its kind ever in the program.
Officials say the suicide lead to a lockdown of the client's unit for about 12 hours.
"As a precaution and to provide for emergency response, a lockdown of the client’s unit occurred from approximately 6:20 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Saturday. At no time was security at the facility compromised," a statement from DHS officials said.
