By KBJR News 1

There are other laws that go into effect July first in Minnesota.

A surcharge of a $1.75 will be added to the cost of renewing driver's licenses, permits, I-D cards, vehicle tabs and title registrations.

The money will go toward a computer upgrade for state Driver and Vehicle Services.

Another new law gives military reservists, who own businesses, some breathing room in court when they become active soldiers.

The law allows reservist business owners to delay civil cases at least 60 days, and potentially longer, when they're deployed.
