Madison, WI (NNCNOW.com) - University of Wisconsin-Madison went into lockdown Wednesday night after shots were fired on Langdon Street.
The university tweeted the shots were fired on campus and police were searching for a suspect in the area.
The university asked students to stay indoors and away from Langdon Street.
A person of interest matching the suspect description was detained at 6:42 p.m. by UWPD.
A thorough search of campus from Lake Street to Lot 34 along the lakefront was conducted.
No one was injured, and as of 8:50 p.m. there was believed to be no ongoing danger to the campus community.
