Serial Bank Robber Caught

By KBJR News 1

A serial bank robber, possibly involved in a Duluth bank robbery, was caught this past weekend.

The FBI said Thursday that 25 year old Taron Gilyard of Indiana is a suspect in the May 7th robbery of the US bank on West Superior Street.

Gilyard, who is also suspected of having robbed two other banks in southern Minnesota this past May, made his first court appearance Wednesday.

Charges in the Duluth robbery are expected to be filed within the next 30 days.

This was one of two unsolved bank robberies in Duluth this year.

The first happened on January 4, at the Pioneer Bank.

No one has been arrested in that armed robbery.
