According to the I.R.S. 64-thousand people in Minnesota are eligible for the stimulus package, but have failed to file the proper return.
Duluth ranks third in the state for people who haven't filed a tax return qualifying them for the incentive package.
If you are one of the late filers fear not the I.R.S says you still have time to claim your money.

"It's really starting to wind down, but it's really not to the end- there's still plenty of time to get in your tax return- you've got until Oct. 15th.

Torkleson says while the program may be winding down people are still coming to I.R.S offices with questions.

"Right now some of the most frequently asked questions are: I didn't get as much as I was expecting can you tell me - or I haven't seen my check at all- and they're stopping by our office and trying to get that resolved."

The incentive program began earlier this year as a way to kick-start the economy.
Many economists believed that people would spend the rebate on high-end goods such as flat panel television or computers, but according to some consumers, TV's were the last thing on their mind.

Some consumers said "Well my husband and I decided that we were going to invest it in fuel. We have a corn stove we bought a silo last year and we filled up the silo with corn, so we're good for the year."

"I paid my bills because gas prices are so high and the economy is so tight and it seemed like the right thing to do, it was a good choice.

The biggest fear among economists is that people would stash their money, defeating the government's stimulus purpose.

"My husband and I put it in our savings account cause we have a little one on the way.

The I.R.S has recently started a summer push to get the stragglers signed up.
Among the main targets are veterans and retirees.
