Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Vikings fans will pay an average of $2,500 for the right to buy a season ticket in the team's new stadium.
It's a 65,000 seat stadium.
The deal is that 75% of the seats or about 48,000 will require a seat license.
They will cost from 500 to 10,000 dollars per seat.
That's a one time charge, and then you still have to buy the season ticket.
The question is could there have been fewer seats that require licenses?
The fewer seats you do seat licenses , the most expensive those seat licenses become. so we really weighed the pros and cons between having more seats, 75% as covered by seat licenses, and having I think an average price of $25 hundred dollars is a Minnesota program.I think it makes it much more affordable," said Michele Kelm-Helgen, the sports facilities authority chair.
Governor Mark Dayton said he'd rather there be no license fee, but added he understand the reality of professional sports.
Gov. Dayton praised the Stadium Authority staff for getting the "best deal" they could.
