Airshow Kicks off Saturday Performances

Several pilots performed their dare-devil stunts as crowd-goers stood in awe at the high flying action.

But the central draw to this year's event is the U-S Navy Blue Angels.
Airshow officials say the countless hours of pre-planning and coordination have finally paid-off.

Dave Boe, with the Duluth Airshow Press Relations says, "This airshow has been over a year in the making. There's been a lot of people involved, a lot of volunteers who have put in a lot of hours to make something this big and this enjoyable happen over the weekend."

If you missed today's action, don't worry. The Airshow runs through Sunday.

As a tourist visiting Duluth for the Air Show, I thoroughly enjoyed the show and my time in the city. I do have to say, however, that there seemed to be no plan at all for directing traffic after the show on Saturday. A few people took it upon themselves to help direct traffic, and without them who knows how long it would have taken to get out. I sat for two hours before getting off the airport grounds. I say this in the hopes that the organizers can avoid this situation next time around.
