Deadly Ashland Accident Only Involved 1 Vehicle

After investigation Bayfield County authorities have ruled an early Monday morning accident in which a van struck a body lying on State Highway 1-37 involved only one vehicle.

Just before 2 Monday morning Sabrina Harrelson of Ashland called authorities.

She was a passenger in the van driven by Joshua James, also of Ashland.

Harrelson said they had braked and swerved but had struck the body of 23 year old Gregory Hebert, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

There had been a question about whether another vehicle had struck Hebert first.
