Duluth Places Ban On Lawn Sprinkling

Due to recent dry weather, the City of Duluth has announced a ban on lawn sprinkling effective until further notice.

City reservoirs are at lower than normal levels due to heavy demand and dry weather.

Citizens are also asked to help conserve water on a voluntary basis.

"Until the reservoirs are at higher levels we must prohibit the use of lawn sprinklers," Public Works and Utilities Director Jim Benning said.

"With rain a possibility later this week we hope these measures will be short-lived, but we need to build up our reservoirs in the short term."
