Man Denied New Trial In Iron Range Murder Case

By KBJR News 1

The man convicted of killing Travis Holapa of Gilbert has been denied a new trial.

Frank Alan Miller was convicted of the 2004 murder.

According to our partners at the Mesabi Daily News the Minnesota Supreme Court denied the request.

Miller appealed the verdict on the grounds that the prosecution erred by not fully disclosing the involvement of two other individuals.

The Supreme Court upheld the district court decision saying it did not make a mistake in denying Miller's motion to dismiss the grand jury indictment.

The court ruled a new trial was not warranted.
