A Duluth Township House Fire Takes The Life Of A Child

By KBJR News 1

A house fire in Duluth Township last night took the life of a three year old child.

The blaze broke-out at 15-57 West Knife River Road around 10-30.

Four agencies responded and found the affected residence engulfed in flames on arrival.

"We had a report of one child inside-one adult and two other children got out and so we have one fatality," says Chief Bob Engelson with the Clifton Fire Department.

Authorities say a grandmother and her two grandchildren were able to escape the fire, but the third child didn't make it out.

All survivors were transported from the scene for smoke inhalation treatment.

Officials say the parents of the children are currently in Alaska on vacation.

The fire remains under investigation and a cause has not been determined.
