Pawlenty Won't Talk About Possible Nomination

Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty kept mum on whatever he knows about John McCain's running mate as he watched his daughter's volleyball game Thursday night.

Pawlenty told The Associated Press, ``There's nothing really new to report on Senator McCain's decision.''

He says he thinks everyone will hear from McCain shortly.

The governor spent the evening at a school in Minneapolis, where one of his daughters is a tenth-grader.

Media and onlookers have gathered in front of Pawlenty's private home in Eagan, as well as at the governor's mansion in St. Paul.

Pawlenty says he still plans to be at the Minnesota State Fair Friday, where he's to do his weekly radio show, and that he has no plans to fly to Ohio, where McCain is expected to announce his choice at a rally in Dayton Friday.

Hopefully McCain will pick Romney or another strong conservative. If he does, he will be the next president.

SARAH PALIN IS CURRENTLY UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR ABUSE OF POWER. That's not what the party needs for its VP.

When McCain said Meg Whitman was one of the three people whose advice values most, I thought that was a clue as to his VP pick. Whitman and Romney go way back.

Romney is a great pick, however he is Mormon which alienates a lot of evangelicals.

Actually, if he is the best we've had in a while, it's only because we had a pro wreslter as our last governor. Can't get much worse than that, though Pawlenty's close.

It better be Romney or he will lose a bunch of conservatives!

Palin for VP would be the best move by a Republican in the past 20 years. On the job training, competent and ready to defeat Hillary in 2012.

Have to love you people... Judge without a clue who this "nobody" really is. I would have to say he is one of the best governors that our state has had in quite some time.

This election is McCain's to win or lose based on his VP selection. Romney would make the election a slam-dunk because it would instantly bring the conservatives back. But will McCain's ego allow him to pick someone who might cast too big a shadow? Maybe that's why he's looking at an unknown like Pawlenty who will generally agree with everything McCain says.

The ONLY pick is Romney who is known and loved by millions of americas, will bring in Michigan - will be the economic Czar that McCain needs to win. It's too important to go with an unknown at this late time.
