The retirement of 73rd district assembly member Frank Boyle has left a big opening for contenders eyeing the open seat.
Four possible democratic candidates debated on the campus of the University of Wisconsin Superior.
Mary Tripp, Vern Johnson, Nick Milroy and Bruce Meyers all think they have what it takes to represent the district in Madison.

"Now is your chance rise up you have a renewed opportunity to see your vote really count"

"I'm running in this election because I believe we need some actual representation in Madison."

"I believe my work history, volunteer history and my knowledge of government, and diversity of support make me a strong candidate for this office."

"As a father I want to make sure my son and all of the children of this district have the same opportunities I had growing up in this beautiful region."

Among issues facing Wisconsin voters Gun Control, Gay Marriage and abortion top the list.
All four candidates have widely different views on all three of the issues.

"I have no problem at all with gay marriage"

"I think that conceal–and–carry legislation was poor public policy."

At the time I was given up for adoption abortion wasn't an option, so I obviously quite pleased that my birth mother made the sacrifice and the most selfless act of giving me up.

I believe in a traditional family values where marriage where husband and wife are a man and a woman.

73rd district voters will have a chance to choose their Democratic representative candidate next Tuesday.
