Bridge Set To Be Finished in Record Time

By KBJR News 1

Construction crews working on the new I35W bridge say the bridge could be completed even earlier than expected.

If the bridge is completed by Sept. 16, it would be more than 100 days ahead of schedule... amounting to a 27- million dollar bonus for contractors.

Just because the bridge is finished, Minnesota Department of Transportation officials caution that it doesn't mean the bridge will open right away.

Officials said they should know the status of the bridge by early next week.

See what happens when you give union workers a bonus for working harder.

Maybe they should take some more time to make sure the thing doesn't fall down again!
