Landfill Fire in Superior Extinguished

By KBJR News 1

Superior fire crews were busy this afternoon trying to extinguish a large fire at the Kimmes Landfill.

Reports of the fire came in around 3:30 and just over a dozen firefighters responded to the blaze.

The inferno was limited to a large pile of wood products including stumps, palates, and logs.

The fire was extinguished after a few hours by using sand to bury the flames.

No one was injured in the incident and no structures were damaged.
