Obey Speaks Out On Bail Out Bill

By KBJR News 1

Wisconsin's Seventh District Congressman Dave Obey also spoke out Monday on the failure to pass the bail out bill.

Say that "like most Americans, he's mad as hell that the reckless deregulatory binge of the last decade has led us to the point we find ourselves in Monday."

But he says he reluctantly supported the financial rescue package that was before Congress because it contained provisions offering more protections to the taxpayers than the President's original proposal and the alternative of doing nothing puts the economic security of virtually every American family and business at unnecessary risk.
