Boo at the Zoo

By KBJR News 1

It's not quite as frightening as the questionable fate of the zoo, but a concoction of Halloween delights provided a treat for kids and adults alike.

The annual Boo at the Zoo event provides a playground for trick or treating, a spectacle of haunted costumes, and a number of creepy insects and peculiar creatures.

Kids could be seen today braving their way through the Haunted Shack Tunnel, navigating a spooky trail on the haunted hayride, and collecting their share of sweet treats.

Anita Johnson with the Lake Superior Zoological Society says, "The fall colors here on the trees are so beautiful and our decorations look the best they've ever looked this year, so come on down, it's just beautiful."

About 24 hundred people came through the gates today.

If you didn't get a chance to make it to the event this weekend, there will be another Boo at the Zoo event next Saturday.
