If there's one industry that's weathering the economic storm better than others it could be cell phones.

Here's a look at some of the new– fangled devices on the market.

Cell phones are at the top of both adult and teen wish lists this year.
That's according to a Holiday Purchase Patterns study by the Consumer Electronics Association.

"It has so much in there. It has digital cameras, the ability to be an MP3 player, surf the internet, keep up with your email, everything that you need in a device, and also to make phone calls," said Mike Anderson, a Verizon Spokesperson.

The Consumer Electronics Association estimates consumers will spend a record $22 billion on electronic holiday purchases this year.

Perhaps that's partly due to the ever– increasing options that come with the new communication devices.

"The blitz is a texting machine. This device is built for texting," said Anderson.

The L– G Chocolate is all about music.

"You can put this on an FM channel, set your car radio or your home radio to an FM channel and you can play your music through that radio," said Anderson.

The Dare is L– G's version of the popular iPhone.

"This does V cast videos so you can watch videos on demand," Anderson demonstrated.

An all– touch blackberry hit the shelves today.

It's also a lot like the iPhone but Verizon Spokesperson Mike Anderson says it's good for business– people because it's password protected.

Cell– phone providers across the country are expecting to see a hike in sales throughout the holiday season.

Nokia, Sony, Motorolla and Samsung all have new phones for the season as well.
