Senate Recount Continues Into Weekend

By KBJR News 1

It's day 4 of the Minnesota Senate recount and the work continues in many counties, but it hasn't come without a scare.

Yesterday in St. Louis County ballot counters discovered 74 ballots missing from Duluth's Precinct 12.

The missing ballots were later found in a locked counting machine inside a locked west end warehouse.

St. Louis county auditor Don Dicklich says it's not so important that ballots were missing but rather they eventually got counted, "At least the election judges locked the machine, how they forgot to take them or missed them while they were removing ballots from the machine is anyone's guess but the important thing is we found them and those votes were counted."

Dicklich says the missing ballots contained votes for Franken and Coleman.

After about 2- thirds of the ballots have been recounted, Coleman is holding his edge over Al Franken by about 167- votes.

What is strange is so many consider this angry fool a serious candidate for the US Senate.

It is no wonder that Franken is not doing too good in a democrat landslide. There were probably a lot of better democrats in MN.

I have become confused by looking at the fact that Coleman is ahead. Obama won this state by a reasonably large margin. Why is it this close in the senate race? It seems quite strange.
