Wisconsin Begins Deer Firearm Hunting Season

By KBJR News 1

The state Department of Natural Resources reported hunting conditions were nearly ideal today.

People working at many places that register deer for the DNR reported daytime activity was slower than normal, likely because the cold weather would preserve the meat.

The DNR estimates up to 1.7 million deer roam the fields and woods, about the same as a year ago.
