Wood Burning Stove Blamed for Mt. Iron House Fire

A wood-burning stove is being listed as the cause of a Saturday afternoon structure fire in Mountain Iron that destroyed a man's residence.

The Mountain Iron Fire Chief says the house was totaled and estimates damages around 50- thousand dollars.

There were no injuries, either to the owner or his dog, who both evacuated safely.

None of the 25-30 firefighters who turned out were injured either.
