The retiree healthcare case against the city could go to the class action level in the near future, which could potentially mean hundreds of other city healthcare beneficiaries would be involved in the lawsuit.

A teleconference hearing took place on Tuesday between the two parties. Apparently the plaintiffs requested more time to include more details about the case.

The issue stems from a suit filed last year by city healthcare beneficiaries, who claim their benefits were wrongfully changed. The office of Judge Ken Sandvik reports that a May 12th hearing for a class action motion has been set.
