Minnesota Supreme Court Hears Arguments Against Senate Seat on Monday

By KBJR News 1

One senate seat, two politicians, almost seven months, and about 50 million dollars...

Tomorrow, it all plays out before Minnesota's state supreme court.

The race between democrat Al Franken and incumbent republican norm Coleman was close last Novemberm with Franken declared the winner after a statewide recount.

But Coleman, trailing by 312 votes, is taking his case before Minnesota's supreme court, which hears arguments tomorrow.

But, as Minnesota's only senator, Amy Klobuchar, said today at an appearance on CNN's Meet the Nation, there's no telling how fast Minnesota's highest court will act, "There's going to be a 1 hour argument tomorrow, and I will tell you it's not going to be an instant verdict. We won't have a Susan Boyle moment here. But, I would hope in a month or so we will have a decision from the Minnesota Supreme Court and this will be resolved."

This is the country's longest senate vacancy in 34 years.

I'm really looking forward to that 60 vote Democratic Party majority. The Republicans had their run of the government for 8 years and they have screwed us into the ground. Go Al Franken!

I'd say forget the senate seat - the people of Minnesota have paid enough. The money could have been put to better use - what a big joke!
