A study conducted by a Minnesota think tank does not contain good news for a Duluth Charter School.

Minnesota 20-20 released a report Tuesday detailing financial infractions in 121 of 145 charter schools in Minnesota.

According to the think tank Duluth Edison Charter Schools is one of the worst offenders, having twelve financial infractions.

But spokespeople say the report may be more indicative of a flawed charter system.

"When four out of five charter schools have at least one auditor raised flag it suggests that there is a persistent systemic problem."

The study looked at independent audits of the schools from 2007.

A news release by the Duluth Edison Charter Schools in response to the study says improvements have been made in their book keeping and they have corrected the majority of infractions.
