It was a day for celebration in Bayfield Wisconsin... as the town welcomed home a hero.

Bayfield resident Lori Schneider has joined a very exclusive club, not only has she climbed seven of the worlds tallest peaks, not only has she summited Mount Everest, but she has conquered all while battling Multiple Sclerosis.

Schneider says "To me it was also a victory over the limitations that I originally thought MS would put on me and that I would put on myself thinking that some things in life were too hard to try."

Lori's journey up Mount Everest was racked with avalanches, blizzards and exhausting days up steep snow covered rocks.
But she says she never let herself be afraid of the elements or of failing.

Schneider says "I think for me my mental strength carried me further than my legs might of just on their own I really went with an attitude that I'm going to give it my best shot ."

Bayfield has rallied around Lori's journey from the beginning.

Residents say during Lori's adventure they were with her every step of the way.

Joe Ness says "It's an amazing thing for Lori, it's an amazing thing for the city, and it's an amazing thing for the whole world."

Bayfield will not soon forget Lori's tremendous journey nor the sense of pride she has instilled in the small town.

Hannah Danberg says "I think it's absolutely amazing what she's done and it's inspiring."

As for Lori, she says she's going to take it easy for a little while, but knowing her she won't be sitting idly by for very long.
