Earling Morning Shooting In Sawyer Township

The Carlton County Sheriff's Office, the Fond du Lac Police Department and Carlton Ambulance responded to a 911 call in Sawyer Township just before 2:00 this morning of a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

Authorities say the 24-year old male victim was transported to Community Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released for a superficial wound to his shoulder area.

According to police, the victim was unable to recall much of the incident or give police investigators much information as to how he may have sustained the injury.

Residents told the News Center this morning that the incident began as an altercation that started at a Mhattowa bar that evening.

The case remains under investigation.
