Superior Mayor to Run for Wisconsin Lt. Governor

Superior Mayor David Ross will file candidate registration papers on Friday to run for Wisconsin Lieutenant Governor.

Filing the papers will alow Ross to assemble a campaign staff and raise funds. He plans to announce a campaign staff next month.

Mayor Ross told the Northland's NewsCenter about the possible run back in April. In an interview he said he was weighing the yay's and nay's of running for the position.

"My message is very simple," said Ross. "Smaller government, less spending, less debt, we need to produce a government people can afford, I don't know if the tax payers know this but we're masking the true cost of government."

He plans to formally announce his candidacy after Labor Day.

Mayor Ross has done a fine job in Superior but he is far too left for Wisconsin. He will perform poorly in a partisan and political office like Lt. Gov. I hope that he will continue to serve Superior in a non-partisan capacity.
