Free Transportation for Minnesota's Disabled Vets

By KBJR News 1

Minnesota's Disabled Veterans will now be able to take advantage of public transportation for free.

Disabled Veterans will now just have to show their Veterans identification card to bus operators of any fixed-route service in the state. Personal care attendants who are assisting veterans will also be able to take advantage of the benefit.

Durbin Keeney with the Minnesota Veterans Assistance Council in Duluth says the money that Veteran organizations can save under this new law will help fund various other programs.
