Sen.-Elect Al Franken Celebrates Holiday on the Range

By KBJR News 1

Senator-elect Al Franken is already marching into his new role: He'll participate in six Independence Day parades on Minnesota's Iron Range.

The Democrat will be part of parades in Aurora and Gilbert on Friday.
And on Saturday, he'll hit parades in Eveleth, Nashwauk, Keewatin and Biwabik.

Franken will be joined by his family, as well as Sen. Amy Klobuchar and Rep. Jim Oberstar.

This week, Franken was certified the winner of the drawn-out Senate race between himself and Republican Norm Coleman.

Franken will be sworn in as senator on Tuesday in Washington.
