Cloquet Site of Historical Encampment

Dunlap Island was the sight of a historical throwback in Cloquet today.

Crafters and period style reenactors created the scene from an early 1800 fur trade event.

Walking through the camp, one could see the activities, skills and crafts done during that time period including blacksmithing, weaving and the firing of the musket.

It was not only a chance to see how things were done the way they were, but why.
