Candidates Register For Duluth City Council Races

Hopeful city council candidates were waiting for the Duluth City Clerk's office to open Tuesday morning.

Kerry Gauthier and Patrick Boyle were at the door before eight Tuesday morning to register as candidates for two separate council seats.

Boyle filed for District Two which runs from Chester creek to 40th Ave East and down to the lake.

Gauthier filed for District Four which includes Lincoln Park, Piedmont Heights, and Duluth Heights.

"I filed today for the fourth district city council seat. I think what I bring to my constituents is someone who will listen to their concerns and needs and an ability to work with other people to build a consensus to get things done."

"I want to make sure that Chester Bowl and Mount Royal library, both in District Two, and the Lakewalk extension, are there for my daughter to enjoy and for future generation to see and enjoy."

The general election is November 3rd there could also be a Primary election on September 15th depending on the number of candidates who run.

Along with the 2nd and 4th District election there are also two at large council seats that will be open.
