Fire Now Being Investigated As Arson

By KBJR News 1

Duluth Police are searching for information about a Lincoln Park house fire they now believe was arson.

A fire at a duplex at 2832 west Third Street Tuesday night, kept fire fighters busy for more than ten hours, re- kindling twice Wednesday.

The building was empty when the blaze started, but fire officials were told there may have been squatters living in the home.

The property had been foreclosed on earlier in the year and officials say the former residents were evicted, but two of four units may have been illegally occupied.

Arson investigators are looking for the people who were allegedly in the house, but haven't spoken with them yet.

They say if this is arson it's a growing trend across the country.
