Ashland Co. District Attorney To Run For Congress

A northern Wisconsin district attorney is hosting news conferences Wednesday in Wausau and Hayward in which he is expected to announce a run for Congress.

Ashland County DA Sean Duffy says only that he has a special announcement regarding the 7th Congressional District.

The Republican's news conference in Wausau starts at 9 a.m.

Democratic Congressman Dave Obey, has represented the district since 1969.

The 37-year-old Duffy was appointed Ashland County DA in 2002.

He's a professional lumberjack and was a cast member on MTV's ``The
Real World Boston'' in 1997.

Republican Dan Mielke will also run again in 2010.

He's a farmer from Randolph who lost to Obey last year.
