2 More Die Of Swine Flu In MN

By KBJR News 1

Two more deaths linked with the swine flu virus are reported in Minnesota, raising the total to three.

The state Department of Health said Wednesday that an elderly
individual and a child, both from the Twin Cities area, were the
latest victims.

Officials said the elderly patient had underlying medical problems and was hospitalized, while the child had an extensive bacterial infection in addition to the virus.

Another child from the Twin Cities area died from swine flu last
month.

Officials said in that case the victim had multiple medical conditions before falling ill.

Health officials urged state residents to assume the virus is still circulating and be diligent about taking precautions to avoid contracting or spreading the illness.
