Franken's Victory Party

By KBJR News 1

Senator Al Franken is taking care of another piece of belated business related to his ultimately successful election: A victory party.

Franken returned to the St. Paul hotel where he had hoped to celebrate the Senate win in November.

The Minnesota Democrat is gathering supporters at the Crowne Plaza Hotel overlooking the Mississippi River.

It's being held in the same ballroom where Franken emerged the morning of November 5th to say he wouldn't waive an automatic recount when
the initial vote count put him narrowly behind Republican Norm Coleman.

Franken was sworn in as the nation's 100th senator on Tuesday.
