District Looks for Alternative Route for Front Yard Parking

By KBJR News 1

The Duluth School District is looking to use a different route to get front yard parking at Ordean.

On Monday, Duluth city councilors were informed that the Duluth School District was pulling a resolution that would have allowed front yard parking. However, the district is looking to use an ordinance that was approved last year to install 35 parking spaces in front of Ordean, according to Jim Stauber, Duluth city councilor.

The ordinance became effective June 1st of this year. According to Stauber, this ordinance prohibits front yard parking, but does provide exceptions for school-related matters.

Stauber says a final decision as to whether the district will get the go ahead for the parking spaces could happen in about two months.
