Working to Improve Businesses Relationships in the Northland

August 6, 2010

Most of us spend so much time in our work place that it's important that it's a place we like to be.

That is why the Northland Human Resource Association held an all day conference in Duluth to address issues related to managing a happy and productive workforce.

"We're doing strategic human resources management, updating employers on basic employment laws that have changed in the past year, and we are also focusing on leadership development to help businesses be better and successful through great leadership," says Marketing Director for the Northland Human Resource Association Patricia Stolee.

One of Duluth's largest employers is the city.

Duluth Mayor Don Ness was the keynote speaker at today's event.

During his speech, Mayor Ness announced plans to hire two new employees in the city's human resources department for 2010.

"I've relied heavily on my HR manager in order to get ahead of some those personnel issues and organizational issues that have been a real burden on city hall and we are making great progress," says Duluth Mayor Don Ness.
