It was an early morning goodbye for members of Duluth's 148th Fighter Wing.

Approximately 35 Security Forces Specialists deployed to Southwest Asia in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. The guard members will deploy for six months, but they will first spend some time training at Ft. Dix, New Jersey.

The 148th says the training adds to the intense training already undergone at the base in Duluth.

The Fighter Wing received deployment orders earlier this month.
