Most young trick- or- treaters have hopefully tucked themselves inside by now, and are inevitably going through their candy stash... eating, and trading, as parents wonder how to calm the sugar rush before bedtime.

Well, getting the sugary loot in the first place takes a lot of work.

Fortunately, the candy gathering tradition for the young and young at heart continues on across most parts of the nation... tonight in Duluth was no exception.

Last year, an estimated 36- million trick or treaters hit the streets.

In addition, about 93- percent of households considered their neighborhood safe.

In one Duluth neighborhood, a homeowner that's enthusiastic about Halloween converts his yard into a haunted cemetery.

This year, Tom Grier and his friends spent an entire week hanging signs, placing grave markers, securing gates, and creating a maze.

For Tom, the best part of all the work is seeing the kids enjoy all the hard work.

He has kept this tradition alive for nearly 20 years now.
