Driver of Car Hit by Dumptruck Named

The name of the victim in Friday's fatal accident between a car and a dump truck has been released.

The Douglas County sheriff identified the man as 56- year old Dennis J. Godfrey.

The crash happened on highway 35 in the town of Superior shortly after 12pm when the vehicle crossed the centerline and hit the dump truck.

Godfrey was the driver of the car and killed in the incident.

The driver of the dump truck sustained minor injuries.

I heard that the dumptruck was all the way over in the bike lane trying to miss the guy in the car. I guess there was nothing left of the car. They just threw a tarp over the car and hauled it off, they extracated the dead guy at the fire hall it was so ugly.

The headline they used makes it appear as if the dump truck driver was at fault. If you read the story it clearly states that the car crossed the center line and collided with the dump truck.
