The Northland Chapter of the Red Cross is assisting a Cloquet family of four left without a home after a morning fire.

Authorities say the blaze totaled the multi–use building located at 1401 Central Hall Road, which housed several apartments and businesses.
They say the father, Rick Gibson, was the only one at home when the fire broke out around 10 a.m. Gibson says he was in the shower at the time and heard popping noises. Fire fighters say he was able to escape with minor injuries.

No word yet on what exactly caused the fire.
