This year the Christmas Tree that will be placed at Minnesota’s State Capitol will be chopped down in Carlton County.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources will cut down the 44 foot balsam fir Friday with the help of the Minnesota Conservation Corps at the Nemadji State Forest.

After it’s cut down it will be on display at the governor’s residence throughout the holiday season.
