Man Stabbed in Head Outside Duluth Bar

A 49-year old man is in the hospital tonight after being stabbed in the head outside a Duluth bar.

Around 2am Sunday, the Duluth Police responded to the area outside Curley's Bar on West Superior Street.

On the scene they found a man with deep stab wounds to his head and neck.

The victim was transported to St. Luke's Hospital where doctor's say he would have bled to death had he not received medical treatment when he did.

The suspect is a 23-year old male from Duluth, who allegedly was involved in verbal argument with the victim before the stabbing.

He was located by police after several witnesses chased him from the scene.

Police arrested the suspect and transported him to the St. Louis County jail pending formal charges for Attempted Second Degree Murder and Second Degree Assault.

I recently was a regular at Curlys until I almost got myself into a similar situation.People put themselves into these situations being in the wrong place at the wrong time.Especially dangerous while drinking in certain areas.
