Extensive Model Railroad Show Visits Superior

The steam engine goes racing by over a bridge where below folks cast their fishing rods hoping for the next big catch... sounds like a common scene here in the Northwoods, but not when the scenery is only 2-inches tall.

The Lake Superior and Mississippi Railroad hosted a model railroad show this weekend.

The railway layouts ranged from more than 20- feet long to arrangements that could fit in an oversized trunk.

Proceeds from the event will go towards refurbishing the Railway Post Office Car that will be handicapped accessible.

It will be available for rides along the St. Louis River in West Duluth by next Summer.
