Although Minnesota lawmakers are faced with balancing a 1$.2 billion dollar budget gap among a laundry list of other tasks...politics are expected to take center stage throughout much of the 2010 legislative session.
This is Governor Tim Pawlenty's last term at the capitol and many lawmakers are looking for ways to climb the political ladder to nab the seat.
"The reality is both the republican and democratic conventions are at the end of April, so we're certainly going to see a lot of speech making on the floor, that's really more about running for Governor than it is about getting stuff done," said Rep. Roger Reinert, DFL - Duluth.
Two Iron Range lawmakers are among those running for Governor. Senator Tom Bakk of Cook and Representative Tom Rukavina of Virginia are both in the running.
