The old Saint Louis County jail has been given the go-ahead to be sold.
Commissioners voted Tuesday to approve the purchasing agreement with Jail Holding Company LLC.
The company will buy the jail for $54,000 pending a final closure agreement in April.
The jail was built in 1924 and is considered to be part of the Duluth Historic Civic Center District.
The county says the buyer intends to preserve the building.
The next step is for the buyer to inspect the property.
