Many cell phone users in the Twin Ports woke up to a pleasant surprise on their phones this morning...3–G coverage.
Up until now, most Northlanders used what's called the "Edge" network.
3G networks give users a faster data speed which makes functions on the phone as well as internet speeds quicker.
AT&T spokespeople say this is just a soft launch of the 3G network in the area...and that not all of the towers may be working at 3G capacity just yet.
An official launch should take place in the coming days.
