Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty plans on outlining a new comprehensive education reform bill tomorrow that aims to better prepare students for success and keep the state on the forefront of education.

The bill includes alternative teacher licensure, expanded performance pay for teachers, and a statewide evaluation system.

Governor Pawlenty met with legislative leaders last Tuesday to encourage them to pass key education reforms that also aim to enhance Minnesota's chance of success if the state decides to apply in round two of the federal Race to the Top competition.

The application deadline for that competition is June 1st.
