Students at central high school today saw first hand the horror and chaos of a major car crash.

A mock crash was set up in the high school parking lot and featured injuries, blood and death.

The Duluth fire department, the Minnesota State Patrol, and Gold Cross all took part in the scenario.

The participants in the mock crash were all Central students.
Event organizers hope the graphic depiction of an accident will serve as a reminder to take driving seriously.

Captain Brent Consie with the Duluth Fire Department "It's one thing to grieve for that child that was killed today in that crash this mock crash, but it's also the kids that were in that car...that were in the drunk car that were drunk driving they're going to live with that forever."

The mock accident couldn't have been more timely.

Over the past six days several teens have died or been seriously injured in car crashes across Minnesota.
