A Special Project for a Special American Hero

Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- It's a special project for a very special and dedicated American Hero who lives right here in Duluth.

Joe Gomer is a veteran of World War II and was one of the Tuskegee Airmen in the war.

Due to Joe's age (92 years old) and personal family issues, he cannot do some much needed repairs around his house. This includes work on a dormer and landscaping to repair drainages related to the damaged dormer.

That's why the Northland Veterans Services Committee and the Home Depot are partnering up to help out Joe. However they need your help to get this veteran's home up to shape.

On Friday, October 19th and Saturday October 20th from 9am to mid-afternoon, volunteers are needed to lend a helping hand in getting these repairs done.

If you are interested in helping out a local hero, you can call Lyzz Wahlberg at 218-391-4706.
